Capriccio Clarinet Orchestra
The Capriccio Clarinet Orchestra was founded in 1989 by conductor and clarinetist John de Beer (1952–2024). Since January 2022, his daughter Ailien de Beer has taken up the baton.
This means that for more than 35 years, former and current students of the Clockhuys Centre for Art and Culture in Haren and the Kielzog Arts Centre in Hoogezand have been rehearsing with great enthusiasm to perform concerts everywhere.
And indeed, everywhere — over the past 35 years the orchestra has been invited to give numerous concerts both in the Netherlands and abroad. Concert tours have taken the orchestra to Western European countries, as well as to Hungary, Australia, Russia, Japan, and Ireland. In this way, the orchestra has truly become an ambassador for music education in our region.
Even after 35 years, the orchestra is still vibrant and full of ambition.
